Why I Like the Park

It's no secret. I like the park. So does my sister. What's not to like? When I was younger I'd say I was more of a playground guy because the playground had swings.

But I kinda grew out of the swings. I still love the playground and we tend to go there more than the park because it's closer. However, when we're feeling a little giddy and want something more, it's Prospect Park all the way! I especially like going there with friends. It gives us time to catch up on the local happenings.

Plus there's more space for me to just sort some things out and set some goals for the future. There are certain things that I'd like to see accomplished before I turn three. Potty training?

But mainly it's the chance to be with friends. This is Maggie.

And here are some of my other friends. You don't get this kind of fun at the playground.

Also at the park, people are far less likely to judge you if, say, your pants fall down. I mean these things do happen. Looking for a belt here in LANDEN'S WORLD!

Who's the Boss?

Jasmine came over the other night and we played together all night long. First it started with all this amazing food that my mama and dada and her mama and dada put together on the table. We had chips, pizza, little wings, cake, and cookies. There was something on tv the whole night that everyone kept watching but Jasmine and I were able to keep busy on my new bed watching movies.

At one point, our parents called us into the room and there was all this singing and clapping because there was something new on tv. It was music! Jasmine and I danced all around. Now I don't really know who it was on the tv but Jasmine's mama called him the boss. Funny, I thought my mama was boss.

Oh Jasmine, champs like us, baby we were born to run in LANDEN'S WORLD!

I Wish They All Could Be California Girls

I met someone. Her name is Keely and she lives across the street from my cousin Ava. She's a little older but my dada fell for an older girl. So, why can't I? I played with Keely quite a few times while we were out in California and we had a great time together. Some days we'd play at Ava's house and other days we'd play over at Keely's. I know the whole she-lives-in-California-I-live-in-New-York thing isn't the best but we can ichat. See, I'm learning!

Keely
One of the nights I was in California, my cousins had a little fun with me and dressed me up. I guess these things can be expected when you stay with two girl cousins.

Landen Dressed Up
Probably the best part of this trip was that I got to sleep in a big boy bed. I'm still not sure if I like it because some nights I would roll off, wake up, and then hop into bed with dada. That would last about an hour and then he'd put me back in my bed. I did really like taking my naps in the big boy bed. Plenty of room for me to move around and the bed was so big that I didn't have to worry about my pacis falling off the side.

Big Boy Bed
We celebrated the turkey day with Keely's family across the street (you know I was more than happy to head over there for the day). There was so much food - I couldn't believe it! The best part was being able to help myself because the chip bowl was at just the right height.

Growing Up Giambalvo

I have lots of friends who are all very different from me. Some friends are girls, some are tall, some have really dark hair, some don't take naps (are they optional?), and some don't live in Brooklyn. So like I said we're all different. But what makes me different from them? What would they say about me in their blogs? I guess the best way to explain what makes me different from all of them is to understand who I am. I'm a Giambalvo. Well what does that mean? How the heck am I supposed to know? I'm only two! Were you expecting me to say something about being cool?

Landen Sunglasses
I just know that I see it all over and it always comes right after my name. Landen Giambalvo. I see it on cards from my nanas, on blankets, on pictures, it's everywhere. Oh well. So while I can't necessarily tell you what it means to grow up being a Giambalvo (give me a few years), I can tell you one thing. I most certainly am growing up. I mean look at me, all my clothes are too small and I can barely fit into my first stroller! Getting bigger here in LANDEN'S WORLD!

J is for Jasmine

Jasmine came over last night, along with her mommy and daddy. I really like it when Jasmine's over because mama and dada will let me get away with a lot more. Sometimes Jasmine even stays late and we'll get to play in the bathtub together. Unfortunately, last night was an early night for Jasmine and her parents but we still managed to make a mess of the place. First Jasmine and I had dinner together. Jasmine like's hot dogs too so we each had one.

Eating Dinner with Jasmine
After dinner we turned on Blue's Clues for a while. Mama bought me my very own handy-dandy notebook, just like Steve! I had my crayons out and everything and I was writing down the clues. Jasmine wanted to run around a bit so we stopped watching and went into my room. Then she found my stickers and that's when the fun really started. Dada let us get into my crib and it was sticker time! We were putting stickers on the pillows, on the crib, and even on each other.

In the Crib with Stickers
So we were all back on the couch playing and jumping on dada when the bell rang and someone was at the door. It was dinner for the mommies and daddies. More food! Everyone gathered around the big kitchen table and mama even set up a place for me. I got to sit with the big people at the big table. I felt like such a, well, big person.

Eating at the Big Table
After dinner was over, Jasmine was playing around with my dada (I don't mind sharing him as long as it's with someone I really like). He kept picking her up and she would sit on his shoulders. This is something dada had tried with me in the past but I never really liked it, until last night. I saw how much fun she was having so I thought I would give it a try. Boy oh boy had I been missing out. Riding around up there was the greatest!

The countdown for the birthday continues. I have this piece of paper that shows all the different choo-choos you can buy. There are so many of them! I'll take this one, this one, this one, and that one. The list is getting longer in LANDEN'S WORLD!

Zee Oh Oh Spells Zoo

Our friends upstairs have a cat in their house. Nana Mary has a dog at her house and so does Tutu. This house I went to the other day with my friend Charlie, they had so many animals! Mama said the animals belong to the zoo. I don't know who zoo is but he sure is lucky.

L at the Zoo
I saw many different animals but really, the best part, was hanging out with my friend Charlie. We had so much fun together. Charlie lives over in Williamsburg. We don't see each other as much as I'd like to but when we do, we certainly know how to laugh it up. The day after the zoo we went to the Children's Museum.

C
That person I mentioned the other day is celebrating their birthday very soon. I wonder who it could be? When is the birthday you ask? Dada said something about five and a wake-up. What does that mean? Looking forward to birthday #2 in LANDEN'S WORLD!

Happy Birthday, Noah!

A friend of mine celebrated his third birthday yesterday. His name is Noah and he lives upstairs on the fifth floor. He has a new little sister named Margot. I wonder what it would be like to have a little sister. Hmmm. Anyway, the party was a lot of fun. There was music and it's just like the music class I go to on Wednesdays. We played with shakers,

Shakers
and scarves.

Scarf
After the music was over, it was time for the cupcakes!

Cupcake!
Noah's mommy and daddy put out all these cupcakes onto the table and we were allowed to decorate them. So that's something I want to talk about - decorating cupcakes. Dada put some colorful little sprinkles on my plate and said I could use them to decorate my cupcake. Why would I want to do that? I mean if you had your choice between one snack and two, wouldn't you choose two? Right, so you see my point. Why not keep the sprinkles on the side and then when you're done eating the cupcake, move onto the sprinkles? It was a pretty easy decision for me.

Eating Cupcake
After we ate our cupcakes (and sprinkles) Noah's daddy brought out the cake. All the mommies and daddies sang to Noah and then he blew out the candle. I felt so lucky to be sitting next to the birthday boy.

Let Us Eat Cake
Speaking of birthday boys, someone is getting ready to celebrate their second birthday. Dropping subtle hints here in LANDEN'S WORLD!
